Brandon Sheppard Claims Podium Finish in Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora
Rocket1 Racing Readies for Peach State Classic and World Finals
SHINNSTON, W.Va. (10/20/25) – Brandon Sheppard wrapped up the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) campaign with a third-place finish in the 45th annual Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway, piloting the Rocket1 Racing / Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Super Late Model.
The result marked a return to the podium for the five-time event winner, who last captured the crown jewel trophy in 2023. Sheppard also claimed back-to-back wins in 2019 and 2020, when the event was held at Portsmouth Raceway Park.
“The track was great — it has been all year. Big thanks to Tony and his crew for all their hard work,” Sheppard said. “My team has been working really hard to get us stronger late in races, and I felt like we showed that tonight. We definitely had a car capable of winning. Hats off to my guys for an awesome weekend — I’m super grateful to be part of it.”
The season-ending doubleheader began Friday with 58 Super Late Models taking to Eldora’s iconic half-mile oval. Sheppard clocked the third-fastest time in his 30-car qualifying group and followed it up by outrunning Hudson O’Neal for a convincing 10-lap heat race victory.
Starting fifth in Saturday’s $100,000-to-win main event, Sheppard climbed two positions to secure a podium finish, joining race winner Bobby Pierce and runner-up Chris Madden in victory lane.
The finish locked Sheppard into fifth place in the final LOLMDS standings — a position worth $100,000 in year-end points earnings.
