McCreadie fourth in Pittsburgher at PPMS

Tim McCreadie began his pursuit of a third Lucas Oil Late Model Series (LOLMDS) championship over the weekend with the Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.

After finishing eighth in Friday’s opener at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, McCreadie raced to a fourth-place finish in Saturday’s $50,000-to-win finale.

“We didn’t have the weekend we hoped to have in the first two championship races at Pittsburgh, but we’re still in the thick of things. Heading into Brownstown (Speedway) this week we have high hopes. We had a really good car there at the Castrol (FloRacing Night in America) event a few weeks ago, and it gave us a good notebook on the new car heading into this week,” McCreadie said. “As always I can’t say enough thanks to this awesome Rocket1 Racing team, and all our great marketing partners.”

The Big River Steel Chase for the Championship commenced for Rocket1 Racing and Tim McCreadie on Friday evening as 38 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors invaded Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for the annual Pittsburgher.

With a preliminary program slated for Friday evening, Tim advanced into the opener with a runner-up heat finish. With a $10,000 prize up for grabs, McCreadie rolled to an eighth-place finish.

Back at the half-mile oval on Saturday, McCreadie topped his 19-car group in time trials before placing first in his heat race. Starting on the front row for $50,000-to-win Pittsburgher, Tim ran as high as the second position before ultimately crossing the line in fourth.

He trailed Jonathan Davenport, Devin Moran, and Max Blair across the line with Hudson O’Neal coming in fifth.

With the first two races of the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship in the books, Tim sits in fourth in the standings.

The team now turns their attention to a pair of LOLMDS events this weekend at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway. Action opens on Friday with the third annual C.J. Rayburn Memorial, which posts a $10,000 winner’s check followed by the record-setting $50,000-to-win Jackson 100 finale on Saturday.
McCreadie has three times won the coveted Jackson 100 with triumphs in 2008, 2020, and 2022.
