Sheppard's consistency continues on World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series southern swing

March 27, 2017

Brandon Sheppard's 2017 season of consistency continued this past weekend in the Valvoline Seubert Calf Ranches Rocket Chassis XR1 #Rocket1 during a southern World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series (WoOCraftLMS) tour swing. Sheppard and his Rocket1 Racing team secured a victory and a top five finish in the two WoOCraftLMS events on March 24th and 26th.

The first WoOCraftLMS race of the weekend was at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS on March 24.. Sheppard qualified fourth and won heat race #2. During the redraw to determine the invert for the top eight starters of the A-main, Brandon pulled out wrench number one from the Craftsman tool box. The fans got their money's worth as Sheppard and fellow Rocket Chassis XR1 driver Timothy Culp raced door to door for the final half of the A-main. Sheppard was able to edge out Culp to win his fifth race of the year

Saturday's second WoOCraftLMS event at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, AR was cancelled due to persistent rain through out the day.

Sheppard's consistency continued through the third and final race of the weekend at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, TX by setting fast time and winning heat race #1. The Valvoline Seubert Calf Ranches Rocket Chassis XR1 #Rocket1 started the A-main from the outside pole. At the end of the 50 laps, Sheppard secured a 3rd place finish for the 11th top five of the 2017 season.

"We're working on consistency and this weekend was the model of what we've been working on. I got to thank Mark [Richards] and all of the guys at Rocket for making this happen for me,” said Sheppard. “This is an awesome team and I am really excited for the rest of the year.”

Through six WoOCraftLMS starts of the 2017 season, Brandon Sheppard is first in WoOCraftLMS points. He currently leads 2nd place Rick Eckert by 34 points.
