Sheppard and Rocket1 Racing Win #4 at East Alabama Motor Speedway

SHINSTON, WEST VIRGINIA (March 24, 2018) – Brandon Sheppard piloted the Valvoline Seubert Calf Ranches Rocket Chassis XR1 to his third Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win of the season on Saturday night and am 8th place finish the previous night.

Competing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Series for the first time since Georgia/Florida Speedweeks, Sheppard and his Rocket1 Racing team traveled to the Tennessee/Georgia border to compete at Boyd's Speedway on Friday, March 23rd. The #Rocket1 car transferred to the A-main through his heat race by a third place finish. That started him 10th in the A-main, through the 50 laps, Brandon gained two spots to finish 8th place.

The following night at East Alabama Motor Speedway the team competed in the 21st annual "Bama Bash".

#Rocket1 started 2nd in the $12,000 to win "Bama Bash". During the first 8 circuits, Brandon battled for the lead. Once he grabbed the point on lap nine, he never looked back. Several restarts made the racing action wild and exciting as two, three, and four-wide battles ensued throughout the field, but no one had anything for the Valvoline Seubert Calf Ranches Rocket Chassis XR1 Rocket1.

“There is a lot of great competition on the Lucas Oil Series,” said the 25-year-old Sheppard who is a former series rookie-of-the-year. “I have only followed it once before, and that was two years ago. I was driving harder than I probably should have been. The track developed a black streak and that helped as I was leading. Overall, I can’t thank Mark Richards, Steve Baker, Valvoline, Seubert Calf Ranches and everybody at Rocket Chassis enough for giving me this opportunity. It’s a dream come true for me.”

“At the start of the race I knew the track was real slippery and the tire wear was no big deal. Once I felt it latch up a little bit in three and four I knew to back down out of it. Luckily it worked out for us. I want to thank my crew. They work hard all of time on the car, so I can stay at home with my family. I really appreciate their help it means a lot.”

Brandon Sheppard and Rocket1 Racing rejoins the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series with their next events at Farmer City Raceway's "Illini 100" April 13 and 14. The following weekend the team will travel to Mississippi's Whynot Raceway Park April 20 and 21st.
