Brandon Sheppard Finishes 12th in LOLMDS Debut at Circle City Raceway
Illinois Speedweek Next on the Schedule
SHINNSTON, W.Va. (05/06/25) – Brandon Sheppard was back on the road with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) over the weekend with the team’s Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.
The New Berlin, Illinois native recorded a 12th-place finish in Friday’s opener at Circle City Raceway, which marked the national tour’s debut at the Indianapolis-area oval.
“I hadn’t been here since 2021, so I expected a bit of a learning curve coming in," Sheppard said. "We got off to a solid start and showed good speed early in the feature, but unfortunately, we started to fade as the race progressed. It wasn’t the result we were hoping for, but I’m incredibly thankful for the Rocket1 team and everyone back at the shop who keeps us going while we’re out on the road."
Sheppard and the Rocket1 Racing team continued their national tour campaign on Friday afternoon, joining the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at the Indiana facility for the weekend opener.
Amongst a 27-car field, Sheppard followed up the seventh-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a third-place finish in his heat. With $15,000 on the line in the 50-lap feature, he showed early speed but faded in the second half, ultimately finishing 12th.
Following the cancellation of Saturday’s Ralph Latham Memorial at Florence Speedway due to weather, the team made an overnight haul to Mississippi Thunder Speedway for the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series-sanctioned Dairyland Showdown.
After transferring into the $30,000-to-win main event with a third-place finish in his heat, Sheppard wrapped up the weekend with an 18th-place run in the finale.
